Oil Price in Taiwan

The oil price drops sharply due to coronavirus pandemic, people around the world reduce outdoor activities.

Guess how much is the oil price per liter in Taiwan now? It's the lowest price I can ever remember in the past 17 years.

It's TWD16.8 (USD0.56)/liter(self-service) this week, and could be lower next week!

By the way, why are there so many scooters in Taiwan? Here're my analyses,

1.Price: A scooter only costs TWD80,000 (USD2,666.7) or even less. Comparing to buying a car, it's much cheaper for parking and maintenance cost. Not to mention that the sale price of a car in Taiwan is rather high because some people can't afford it.
2.High Mobility: Taiwanese seldom commute from one city to another like American do. A scooter can satisfy the transportation. And it's easy for a scooter to find free parking space in city.
3.Less developed public transportation: Only Taipei and Kaohsiung city owns metro in Taiwan, and even with bus transportation, it's still not very convenient for people to go anywhere by not riding a scooter.
4.Parking space problem: In main cities such as Taipei and New Taipei city, it's difficult to find parking space. But in the middle and southern counties in Taiwan, the parking spaces are abundant since less crowded.
